Delhi experiences all 4 seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter and each season offers something to the travelers. However most travelers prefer to visit Delhi during October to March when climate varies from moderately cold (25 C ) to severely cold ( 5-10 C). We have mentioned advantages and some disadvantages of travelling in each season.
Oct-Nov : It is autumn time in Delhi and temperatures start cooling down to a high of 25-30C to a low of 20C. Delhi offers a lot of outdoor sightseeing and it is a good time to explore Delhi with plenty of sunlight. Festival of Diwali also falls during this period and there is general festivity around this time.
Dec-Jan : It is winter in Delhi and weather gets cold with highs of about 15C and lows of about 5-10C. You get daylight of about 10 hours which may be marked with fog sometimes. It is peak time to visit Delhi so expect higher hotel rates.
Feb-Mar : It is spring in Delhi and the city looks at its best this time. Temperatures vary with about highs of 20-25C and lows of 11-15C. Crowds tend to be thinner and you may take advantage of falling hotel rates.
Apr-Sep : This season is a mix of summers and monsoon with temperature soaring to a high of 40C with lows of 30C. Tourists tend to least prefer this period, however this period also offers best bargains and therefore is a good time for budget conscious visitors.
